Harbor

Releases

What shipped, and when.

Every Harbor release on every platform, newest first. Harbor's apps update on their own schedules — the Mac App Store waits on review, the Web Clipper waits on four of them — so the version numbers here rarely line up, and that's on purpose.

  1. You can now link one note to another right where you are typing. Type [[ or @ anywhere in a line to open the note picker, search as you type, and drop the link in. Before, this only worked at the start of an empty line.
  2. Harbor for the web

    1.0.40

Sign-up protection. The human check on the account creation screen now catches a kind of automated sign-up that was slipping past it. Creating an account normally is unchanged.
  3. Harbor for the web

    1.0.39

    Reminders that actually arrive

    • Reminder emails — the switch in Settings finally does something — a reminder now lands in your inbox at the time you set
    • Desktop notifications — a due reminder also pops up while Harbor is open in a tab
    • Late repeating tasks catch up — finishing a monthly task six months late now moves it to next month, not five months ago
  4. Task reminders now actually fire on Mac and iPhone, and the task form tells you in plain English what a task will do before you save it.

A repeating task now describes its schedule the same way it does on the web and on your other devices.

Picking a date and time for a task on the Mac is now a calendar with hour and minute controls, instead of a clock face you had to drag.

  6. Harbor for Android

    1.0.14

Note links show the linked note’s name. A link to another note used to read just “Note” — now it carries that note’s real title, and follows along when you rename it.

Also fixed: sharing an image into Harbor no longer makes Home show the wrong picture. A brand-new note’s row could briefly draw the photo belonging to whatever note sat in that spot before.

  7. Harbor for Windows

    0.2.14

Reminders that do what you told them

    • Desktop notifications — a real switch in Settings, and turning it off stops a pop-up that was already scheduled
    • Task recap — the new-task form now says in one sentence what the task will do and when its reminder fires
    • Ctrl+K — New tag, New notebook and a workspace switcher
    • Polish — the account menu and every capsule chip now match the web app
  8. Harbor for Android

    1.0.13

Videos play right in your notes. Tap a clip and it plays where it sits — no downloading it first. An encrypted clip tells you its size before it starts, so you spend the data only when you press play.

Also fixed: a whole-account export now names its format in the progress row — as HTML, as Evernote (ENEX), or as Markdown — so two exports running at once are no longer a guessing game.

  9. The ⌘K quick-open palette can now create a notebook or a tag and switch workspaces. The editor’s + insert menu now offers everything you get by typing /.

  11. Harbor for the web

    1.0.36

    Start anything from ⌘K

    • New notebook and New tag — make either one straight from the search box, instead of hunting for the right plus sign
    • Switch workspace — jump between workspaces from ⌘K rather than the account menu
    • Every action has its own icon — New note and New task no longer look identical
  12. • Table of contents — pick any notes and create a note that links to them all. • Publishing a note that links to private notes now warns you first, and offers to publish those too. • The “/” insert menu opens beside your cursor instead of jumping to the top of the window. • Mac: drag notes onto a notebook in the sidebar to move them, including notebooks pinned to Shortcuts. • Mac: right-click Trash in the sidebar to empty it.
  13. Harbor for the web

    1.0.35

Your web clips survive being edited

    • Edits no longer break a clip — opening a saved page in a native app and saving it leaves an ordinary note, not a broken snapshot
    • Convert to Note — turn a saved page into a normal, editable note whenever you want to
    • Undo it from Version history — restoring a clip brings the page back exactly as it was saved
  14. Harbor for Windows

    0.2.13

Fixed the empty band below custom title bars, including after maximize, restore, RDP reconnect, and display-scale changes.
