    • A size button for text — Select text and pick Tiny, Small, Default, Large or Huge. Only that text changes.
    • Guide lines for lists — Turn on "Show list guide lines" in Settings to see which list items belong together.

    Search, the same everywhere

    • Search words work everywhere — tag:, notebook: and dates now work in every search, saved search and shortcut, and on the Mac when you are offline.
    • Curly quotes count as quotes — A search for “like this” finds the exact phrase.

    • Colour in code blocks, with a language picker in each block.
    • Add YouTube videos to a note and play them right there.
    • Type # while you write to add a tag, or : to add an emoji. There is also a new emoji picker.

    • Simpler reminders: pick a time, and the day comes from the task’s due date. A repeating task now says how it repeats.
    • Web clips no longer show a second scrollbar.
    • Editing a note no longer drops settings on embedded content, such as its size and alignment.
    • Mac: optional counts next to Tasks, Templates and Files. All sidebar settings are now in Settings › Sidebar.

    • The note-link picker now shows notes from the workspace you are in.
    • Checking off a task shows its strike-through and fade again before it leaves the list.

    You can now link one note to another right where you are typing. Type [[ or @ anywhere in a line to open the note picker, search as you type, and drop the link in. Before, this only worked at the start of an empty line.

    Task reminders now actually fire on Mac and iPhone, and the task form tells you in plain English what a task will do before you save it.

    A repeating task now describes its schedule the same way it does on the web and on your other devices.

    Picking a date and time for a task on the Mac is now a calendar with hour and minute controls, instead of a clock face you had to drag.

    • A “What’s New” card after Harbor updates, so you can see what changed.

    • Importing from Evernote is faster and more reliable, and handles much larger files.

    Harbor now runs on more devices.

    • iPhone & iPad: Harbor now requires iOS 18 instead of iOS 26, so it installs on iPhone XR, XS and XS Max.
    • Mac: Harbor now requires macOS 15 instead of macOS 26, including Intel Macs back to 2018.

    Also in this update:

    • Tasks: one sort menu, five fields, and both sort directions.
    • Repeating tasks: “Last day of the month” is now available in custom recurrence.
    • Encryption: ⌘L locks your encrypted notes on macOS and iPadOS, saving the open editor first. Harbor also no longer offers encryption setup before your first sync has finished.
    • Watched folders: the “suggest a title” setting now applies on the Mac.
    • Fixed a crash when recording audio on a Mac with no microphone.
    • Fixed sync, the editor, and the idle lock getting stuck after the system clock moved backwards.
    • Notebooks on iPhone and iPad now list ungrouped notebooks first, then stacks, with Trash last.
    • Clearer messages when an attachment is too large for your plan, and clearer passkey errors.

    Passkeys arrive on iPhone and iPad. You can sign in with a passkey, and create and manage passkeys in Settings.

    Notes with attachments no longer get stuck after a server problem. They now recover on their own, instead of needing Harbor restarted.

    Encrypting, decrypting or moving an encrypted note now warns you first that it clears the note’s version history.

    iPhone and iPad: the + button creates the note in the notebook you are looking at, instead of your default notebook.

    iPhone and iPad: an encrypted note now shows a padlock in its header.

  18. Harbor for Mac (Mac App Store)

    Encryption • Lock an individual note, or set a whole notebook to encrypt everything in it. • Touch ID unlocks your notes again — including after Harbor auto-locks on idle. • Encrypted notes stay encrypted when you move them between notebooks and when sync makes a conflict copy.

    Export • Export a single notebook or everything you have, in the format you want, and download it when it is ready.

    Also in this release • Pasting Markdown now asks how you want it handled instead of converting silently. • A note’s source URL is part of search, and a matching domain ranks near the top. • Attaching a file no longer holds the note while it uploads. • Refreshed accent colour throughout, checked for AA contrast. • Harbor now tells you when a newer version is available. • A long list of fixes across the editor, tasks, attachments and sign-out.
