Does Harbor have a built-in AI?

No — on purpose. Built-in AIs in this category have been weak, expensive, and used to justify price hikes. Harbor opens the door to the better AI you already have instead. (Built-in OCR and meeting transcription are utilities that make your captures searchable — there’s no chatbot, and nothing is ever used to train anyone’s models.)

What can my AI actually do in Harbor?

Anything the API allows with the scopes you grant: search your notes (including OCR’d text), create and edit notes, organize notebooks and tags, manage tasks, and more.

Can my AI read my encrypted notes?

No. Encrypted notes are excluded from the API, CLI, and MCP by design — only you can unlock them. How encryption works →
