    • Repeats, in words — The task editor says what a repeat does, like "Repeats every Friday," and when the task is next due.
    • Tasks in notes look like the task list — A round check, the title, and one line with the due date, the next due date and the repeat.
    • Sort a table of contents — Pick Date updated, Date created or Title, newest or oldest first.

    A table of contents that keeps itself up to date

    • Table of contents — Type / and pick Table of contents, then choose tags. It lists every note with any of those tags and updates on its own.
    • Headings in Note info — Note info lists the note's headings. Click one to jump to it.
    • Index note — The button you see when you select several notes is now called Index note. It still makes a note that links to each one.

    Change the size of text

    • A size button in the toolbar — Select text and pick Tiny, Small, Default, Large or Huge. Only that text changes.
    • Guide lines for lists — Turn on "Show list guide lines" in Settings, under Preferences, to see which list items belong together.

    • Find notes by their metadata. Apps and scripts that use the Harbor API can attach hidden labels to notes, notebooks and stacks. Harbor now keeps them, and meta:gallery=true in search finds the notes that carry them, even offline.

    • The A–Z letter lights up while you drag — Drag a tag over the letters on the Tags screen and the letter under your pointer lights up. The card you drag now sits to the left, so it no longer hides the letter.

    Jump through your tags

    • Drag a tag onto the A–Z letters — On the Tags screen, drag a tag over a letter at the right and the list jumps to that letter. Let go on the letters to cancel.
    • Search works the same offline — Search words like tag:, notebook: and dates give the same results when you are offline.

    • Settings and the sidebar star now agree — Pick a default notebook in Settings and the star moves to it. New notes go there, the same as on the web.

    • Counts moved to Settings › Sidebar — The switches for sidebar numbers now sit with the rest of the sidebar settings. "Show sidebar counts" is now called "Show note counts".
    • Show or hide items with the eye — In Settings › Sidebar, use the eye next to an item to show or hide it, and drag an item by its handle to move it.

    • See your numbers in the sidebar — Turn on "Show counts for Tasks, Templates and Files" in Settings, under Preferences, to see how many open tasks, templates and files you have.
    • One switch to hide every number — Turning off "Show sidebar counts" now hides the numbers next to notebooks and tags too.

    • Jump to a notebook, stack or tag — Type part of its name in quick search and open it straight away.

    Web clips

    • Web clips look like the real page — cards, colors, buttons and pictures — instead of flat text. A page wider than the window shrinks to fit.
    • Web clips are read-only and carry a Web Clip badge, so a stray keystroke can no longer flatten one. Convert to Note turns a clip into an ordinary note you can edit.
    • Copy text copies a clip’s words in one click.

    Finding things

    • A real find bar in every note (⌘F), and the words you searched for are highlighted when you open a search result.
    • Searching inside PDFs and scanned images works offline, too.

    Notes and the editor

    • Photos taken in HEIC format now show correctly in your notes.
    • The note body no longer slides sideways, and a long link to another note can no longer stretch the page.
    • The note-link picker shows notes from the workspace you are in.
    • A file that is too large, or a type Harbor can’t store, is turned away when you pick it — instead of an upload that retried forever.

    Tasks

    • Checking off a task shows its strike-through and fade again before it leaves the list.

    Updates

    • Macs on macOS 15 are offered direct-download updates again.

    Notes and the editor

    • Link one note to another right where you are typing — type [[ or @ anywhere in a line, search as you type, and drop the link in. It used to work only at the start of an empty line.
    • The "+" insert menu now offers the same list as typing /.
    • Videos in a note play inline, without opening anything else.
    • Office documents attached to a note now get a proper file card.

    Tasks

    • Reminders now actually fire, and the task form tells you in plain English what a task will do before you save it.
    • A repeating task describes its schedule the same way it does on the web and on your other devices.
    • Picking a date and time is now a calendar with hour and minute controls, instead of a clock face you had to drag.

    Quick open (⌘K)

    • Create a notebook or a tag, and switch workspaces, straight from the palette.

    Files and recording

    • Play audio and video inline in the Files details drawer.
    • Voice recordings now save as MP3, matching the web and your other devices.
    • A recording counts as a take only when audio actually reaches the file.

    Account and sync

    • Export shows its progress in the activity dock.
    • Change email and Change password now behave correctly for accounts that sign in without a password.
    • If the keychain refuses a sign-in token refresh, Harbor tells you instead of failing quietly.

    • Drag notes onto a notebook in the sidebar to move them — including notebooks pinned to Shortcuts. Hover a collapsed stack and it opens so you can drop inside it.
    • Table of contents — pick any notes and create a note that links to them all.
    • Publishing a note that links to private notes now warns you first, and offers to publish those too.
    • Right-click Trash in the sidebar to empty it.
    • The / insert menu now opens beside your cursor instead of jumping to the top of the window.

    Harbor for Mac is substantially faster.

    • Trashing, tagging, moving notes and ticking off tasks no longer wait on a sync in progress — the app stops freezing mid-click.
    • Harbor now sits genuinely idle when nothing has changed, instead of re-reading your whole library every couple of minutes.
    • Moving between notes and typing in the editor are both noticeably lighter, especially in big notebooks and long notes.
    • Images you have already viewed open straight from your Mac, with no network round-trip.
    • Emptying the trash, restoring a lot of notes, and exporting no longer lock up the window while they run.

    • Workspaces — split Harbor into Work, Personal, or whatever suits you, and switch between them. Each workspace shows only its own notebooks, notes, tasks, tags and trash. Nothing changes until you create your first one.
    • Live sync — a note you edit on another device now updates while you’re looking at it, instead of only after you leave Harbor and come back.
    • Collapsible outlines — fold a heading to tuck away everything under it, and unfold it when you want it back.
    • A new sign-in — the sign-in, register and password-reset screens have been redrawn from scratch, with a dark mode that was designed rather than inverted.
    • A save indicator that says exactly where a note stands — saving, saved, offline, or something went wrong.

    Fixed

    • Harbor no longer signs you out when macOS declines a Keychain read.
    • Signing out now clears your stay-unlocked passphrase on the spot.
    • Moving a folded heading no longer hides the content it lands on.
    • Note-list preview images are rounded to match the web app.

    • Importing from Evernote is faster and more reliable, and handles much larger files.

    • iPhone: fixed the drag handle for moving blocks being hard to grab near the left edge.

    • Standard Notes import — bring your notes, tags and attachments over from Standard Notes, with the option to encrypt everything as it comes in.
    • Markdown export — export your whole account as Markdown, or download any single note as a Markdown file.
    • Clear account — empty an account without deleting it.
    • Files, rebuilt — an upload button, true totals, grid and list views, filters, and a details panel with a preview, file info, and which notes each file appears in.
    • Copy a note’s ID straight from the Info panel.

    Fixed

    • Images no longer vanish from a note the first time you edit it.
    • Text sizes and spacing now match the rest of Harbor.
    • Arrow keys move the highlight in the note-link picker.
    • Notebook stacks keep their collapsed state through a rename.
    • The share confirmation now tells you when the note became public.
