Harbor

Releases

What shipped, and when.

Every Harbor release on every platform, newest first. Harbor's apps update on their own schedules — the Mac App Store waits on review, the Web Clipper waits on four of them — so the version numbers here rarely line up, and that's on purpose.

  1. Harbor for Android

    1.0.26

Search got smarter, and it works offline.

Use tag:work or notebook:recipes to narrow a search. Put a minus sign in front of a word, like -draft, to leave it out. Search by date with created: and updated:, and use “quotes” for an exact phrase.

Search now finds other forms of a word, so “plan” finds “plans”. It also finds notes by their tag names.

  2. Harbor for Windows

    0.2.22

    Smarter search

    • Word forms — "plan" finds "Vacation Plans"
    • Tags — search finds notes by their tag names
    • Faster — filter searches are almost instant
  3. Jump through your tags

    • Drag a tag onto the A–Z letters — On the Tags screen, drag a tag over a letter at the right and the list jumps to that letter. Let go on the letters to cancel.
    • Search works the same offline — Search words like tag:, notebook: and dates give the same results when you are offline.
  4. Harbor for the web

    1.0.59

    • Search no longer shows files you have deleted, on the web or offline.
    • Files attached to encrypted notes never show up in offline search.
    • Tag words always match, and intitle: searches only note titles, not files.
    • Curly “smart” quotes work the same as straight quotes in search.
    • An empty quoted phrase matches nothing, and a quoted operator name like “tag:” is searched as plain text.
    • Colour in code blocks, with a language picker in each block.
    • Add YouTube videos to a note and play them right there.
    • Type # while you write to add a tag, or : to add an emoji. There is also a new emoji picker.
    • Jump straight to a notebook, stack or tag from quick search.
    • Simpler reminders: pick a time, and the day comes from the task’s due date. A repeating task now says how it repeats.
    • Web clips no longer show a second scrollbar.
    • Editing a note no longer drops settings on embedded content, such as its size and alignment.
    • Mac: optional counts next to Tasks, Templates and Files. All sidebar settings are now in Settings › Sidebar.
  5. Default notebook, one setting

    • Settings and the sidebar star now agree — Pick a default notebook in Settings and the star moves to it. New notes go there, the same as on the web.
  6. Harbor for Windows

    0.2.21

Your default notebook is one setting now. Pick a default notebook in Settings and the star in the sidebar moves to it. Star a notebook in the sidebar and Settings shows it. It works offline too, and if the change cannot be saved, Harbor tells you why and puts the star back.
  7. Harbor for the web

    1.0.58

    • Changing your default notebook in Settings now works. New notes, templates, and forwarded email all go to the notebook you pick.
  8. Harbor for Windows

    0.2.20

    Tag as you type

    • Inline tags — type # in a note to add a tag without leaving the sentence
    • Emoji — pick one from the / menu or type a :shortcode
    • Ctrl+K — jump to any notebook, stack or tag
  9. Harbor for Android

    1.0.25

Type #tag right in a note and it becomes a tag.

New emoji picker. Type : and a word, like :smile, to pick an emoji as you write.

Code blocks now show in color. Pasting an image into a note now puts it in the note. You can also jump to a notebook, stack or tag straight from search.

  10. Harbor for Android

    1.0.24

Watch YouTube videos right inside your notes. Paste a YouTube link on its own line, or pick “YouTube video” from the + menu. Tap play and it plays in the note — full screen works too.
  11. Sidebar settings in one place

    • Counts moved to Settings › Sidebar — The switches for sidebar numbers now sit with the rest of the sidebar settings. "Show sidebar counts" is now called "Show note counts".
    • Show or hide items with the eye — In Settings › Sidebar, use the eye next to an item to show or hide it, and drag an item by its handle to move it.
  12. Counts for Tasks, Templates and Files

    • See your numbers in the sidebar — Turn on "Show counts for Tasks, Templates and Files" in Settings, under Preferences, to see how many open tasks, templates and files you have.
    • One switch to hide every number — Turning off "Show sidebar counts" now hides the numbers next to notebooks and tags too.
  13. Jump anywhere from search

    • Jump to a notebook, stack or tag — Type part of its name in quick search and open it straight away.
    • Tags inside your notes — Type # and a tag name while you write.
    • Emoji picker — Add emoji from the picker, or type a colon and a shortcode to get suggestions.
  14. Harbor for the web

    1.0.56

Tags and emoji, right where you type

    • Type # to tag — Pick from your tags as you type.
    • Emoji picker — Type : and a name, like :smile.
    • Jump from ⌘K — Go straight to a notebook, stack or tag.
  15. Harbor for the web

    1.0.55

    • Type # in a note to add a tag, with suggestions from your existing tags.
    • New emoji picker in the editor. Type : and a name (like :smile) for quick suggestions.
    • Jump straight to a notebook, stack or tag from the ⌘K search box.
    • The sidebar can now show counts for Tasks, Templates and Files. Turn it on in Settings.
    • If you go over your file limit, you can now get back under it without deleting notes.
    • Fixed a rare case where an older App Store payment could replace a newer one.
    • Colour in code blocks. Code is highlighted in light and dark, and each code block has a language picker.
    • Simpler reminders. A reminder is now a time — the day comes from the task’s due date.
    • A repeating task’s summary now says how it repeats.
  16. Harbor for the web

    1.0.54

    • Markdown checklists (- [ ] / - [x]) written through the API, the CLI or an AI assistant now become real, tickable checklists.
    • Code blocks now have syntax highlighting and a language picker.
    • Evernote imports keep code blocks as code blocks.
    • Ticking a checklist item no longer strikes through the items nested under it.
    • A free account over its limit now sees why a note could not be saved, and those notes no longer get stuck.
    • A repeating task set to repeat a fixed number of times now stops when it should.
    • Locally run AI tools no longer get the unknown-app warning when you connect them.
    • Harbor can now be connected to Codex.
    • Server reliability improvements.
