Does Harbor handle handwriting?

Yes, in two ways.

Write with Apple Pencil

On iPad, Harbor has a sketch mode built for the Pencil. Pick a paper style, write or draw, and come back any time to keep editing — sketches stay editable, they’re not flattened into a picture the moment you close them. They live inside notes like any content, and you can export a sketch to PDF.

One plain limit: Harbor doesn’t convert Pencil strokes into typed text. Your handwriting stays handwriting.

Scan handwritten pages

Handwritten paper — journals, whiteboards, index cards, a recipe in your grandmother’s hand — can be scanned or photographed into a note, and it goes through Harbor’s OCR like any other capture.

Here’s the honest part: how much of it becomes searchable depends on the handwriting. Modern OCR reads neat print well and does respectably with everyday cursive; a hurried scrawl is a coin flip. When it works, it’s quietly wonderful — search finds a word inside a photographed journal page and highlights it right where you wrote it.

Our suggestion: scan the handwritten things you’d hate to lose anyway. Even when OCR only catches half the words, that’s half more than a shoebox gives you — and the page itself is safe, synced, and filed either way.
